Sidlesham
Small village on Pagham Harbour with the well-known Crab and Lobster pub
A small village on the B2145 between Selsey and Chichester, sitting on the western edge of Pagham Harbour. Sidlesham is technically a separate parish but is closely linked to Selsey and serves as the gateway to the town for anyone approaching from the north. The village has a church, a pub (the Crab and Lobster, a well-known dining destination overlooking the harbour), and a handful of houses clustered around the crossroads. Sidlesham Quay, on the edge of the harbour, is a popular spot for birdwatching and walking. The RSPB visitor centre for Pagham Harbour is located near Sidlesham, providing information, hides and guided walks. The surrounding landscape is flat agricultural land intersected by drainage ditches, typical of the Manhood Peninsula's reclaimed coastal plain.
