Selsey Town Centre

Practical working town centre with everyday shops and community services

The commercial and community heart of Selsey, centred on the High Street and the roads leading off it. The High Street runs roughly north to south through the middle of town and has the practical character of a working community rather than a tourist destination. Shops include a butcher, a baker, a pharmacy, a post office, charity shops and everyday service providers. The Selsey Centre, a modern community and medical hub, sits at the northern end. St Peter's Church, the parish church, stands just off the High Street and is the main place of worship in the town. The streets around the centre are a mix of Victorian, interwar and postwar housing, with bungalows particularly well represented. The town centre is walkable and compact, and most of Selsey's essential services are concentrated within a few hundred metres of the High Street.
