North Selsey

Modern residential estates with the town's secondary school and community facilities

The residential area stretching north from the town centre along the B2145 towards Sidlesham. North Selsey is predominantly modern housing, with estates built from the 1960s onwards filling in the land between the older town core and the parish boundary. The housing is a mix of bungalows, semi-detached houses and small estates, with some newer developments built on infill sites. The Selsey Centre, incorporating the medical practice, library and community facilities, is located on the northern edge of the town centre. The Selsey Academy, the town's secondary school, is in this part of Selsey. The flat agricultural fields of the Manhood Peninsula begin immediately beyond the built-up area, and the views north across the open landscape towards the South Downs are a reminder of how isolated Selsey is from the rest of the district.
